Derek Abbott claims SA Police about to present their findings to the coroner
“The man who claims he solved the identity of the Somerton Man through DNA matches says SA Police has told him it is close to finishing its report for the coroner to officially put the 78-year mystery to rest.
Professor Derek Abbott said he was “99.99 per cent sure” the body found on Adelaide’s Somerton Beach on December 1, 1948, was Carl “Charles” Webb.
But SA Police is yet to present its findings to the coroner, five years after the man’s body was exhumed.
Professor Abbott said SA Police had told him this would happen in the next two weeks and the coroner was expected to present his findings by the end of the year.
“My understanding is it’s going to happen very soon, yes,” he said.”

I am personally hoping that the long 5 year wait for Forensics SA to undertaken their rigorous and well documented DNA work will come to a Somerton Man identity that is not the same as the one put forward by the Professor… his credibility will be crushed and he will no longer have quotes attributed to him in every news article published about the SM case in the future.

So DA is 99.9% certain that the SA Police will have extracted enough DNA from the remains of the Somerton Man to confirm he is Carl Webb, right?

I’m thinking that what Coroner Whittle could do with to get him on top of his Somerton Man game would be one of great uncle Sir Frank Whittle’s jet engine boosters under his judgement sear. .

And a rootless single hair no less which should be child’s play for Astrea DNA laboritory to quantify; If one can find them that is. Seems they move between mountain glades and not even the Advertiser has managed to trace them for desired proof of ownership.

It’s just a stitch-up. They say it is Carl Webb and nobody has proof otherwise. End of their problem. Sometime in the future evidence surfaces which reveals who it actually is and they are in the shit for that. They will have an argument for that and take that risk. That’s how they work.

Both Nick P. and Gordon Cramer missed the boat on ABC’s breaking news re impending decision on whether or not the Coroner need deal with DNA evidence procured by SA Forensics post exhumation of SM remains. All except for the ever reliable Steve H. who saw it as her profound duty to provide full details, verbatim more or less to what was posted above as is her habit. Heads up to Steve, she’s the one her dear mother forgot to drown.

Two very latest comments on DA’s farcebook ‘Identifying SM’ page, be from his sidekick Mitch Whalebones @ Steve H, one about Australuan rules football brain injuries, and t’other about forensic crime scene analysis and follow up tests gone wrong, eg., fingerprint misidentification or dog hair being confused with that of human beans.

There are plenty of experts on DA’s page, in particular the ones commenting on the AI image of our lad reclining against the Somerton Stones .. problem is that nobody seems to have noticed he wasn’t illustrated as wearing a pullover .. which he was.
