What’s the worst thing that could happen in this, the Somerton Body case? In fact what would be the worst three things that could happen, three things that are the reasons why SA Forensics and SAPOL are sitting, bottoms clenched, on what they found so long ago.

The horror!

Let’s take them one at a time.

The hair in all probability did belong to Carl Webb. But the body did not match it, DNA wise, as proved by DNA and forensic determination (this is a fiction remember).

The body remains unidentified, its circumstances still a mystery, though not to all.

And finally, the blonde-haired man tagged as Charlie in the photo is unarguably found to be too short to be identified as the Somerton Man, David Morgan notwithstanding.
