Boxall, Harkness and Prosper Thomson

When Detective Canney interviewed Harkness at her home he mentioned the Rubayat found in Freeman’s car and that her phone number was written on the back.

She told him that she had given a Rubaiyat to Boxall when she lived in Sydney.

When Boxall was interviewed in Sydney later he produced the book but said he didn’t even remember the name of the person who gave it to him, despite that the inscription was signed Jestyn.

The phone number written on the back of the Freeman RoK was regularly used by Thomson in his classified ads.

The Freeman RoK was connected to the Somerton Man by means of the Tamam Shud slip found in his pocket.

Harkness’ shock at seeing the bust was because she recognised his likeness.

The deduction being that SM was in town to meet Thomson and that meeting took place over dinner at Moseley st. with Harkness present.

SM’s body was found on the beach 200 yards away.

The postmortem showed he had a partly digested pasty in his stomach.

He had suffered from various illnesses ..

A closer look at the Somerton Man’s NINE medical conditions.

    • Dusty . What I have written here is a sequence of known evenṯs, bar one, that may be connected to provide a believable narrative to the mystery. Take it or leave it.

It’s hard to believe that Boxall couldn’t remember who “Jestyn” was, how many other girls did he go out drinking with at the Clifton Gardens Hotel? Reading GF’s book about Boxall/Jestyn doesn’t seem to fit the story Boxall told, does it?

  3. Clive, that pub would have been packed with seamen and working bods from the nearest base, and no doubt there would have been more than a few ladies present as well.

WW II buddies, guarded, keep what they know, don’t betray each other. The silent generation.

Feltus, not their generation, was never going to be included
