Just when things couldn’t get any worse ..
Not only is Carl Webb said to be a wife-beating barbiturate addict, a card cheat and ether loving early to bed sulker, a bloke built like a body-builder and a chain smoker – now he’s thought to have been a cross-dresser, all based on no evidence. Now, possibly unlike some of you folks, when it comes to cross-dressing I have some expertise in the matter, being from Bondi and having some non-participatory knowledge of the other side of Kings Cross. Like boys being girls.
As a matter of fact I wrote the following after an extraordinary day at Bondi years ago.
les girls, the boys from the cross come to bondi, things do not go well.

You keep on bringing up Bondi Bozo,. good for you, but that might be confusing for our dedicated Americas followers, including Mexico, Canada, Venezuala & Greenland etc. When you mention Bondi Peteb you’re meaning apropos ‘shooting through like a Bondi Tram’ which was a former means of public transport in Sydney’s eastern suburbs til 1960. Whereas in US of Alabama (Jo), Bondi can only refer to one Pamela Jo Bondi, current US of Ass’ Attorney General, known defectionately as (you guessed it Clive), Trump’s dyed in the wool blonde Bondi Tramp.

I loved Bondi then, I don’t now.

Occasionally a little humour eases the pain Bozo. My main punch line ‘Bondi the Tramp’ should have been good for a laugh.

If I could count the number of times I was punched, kicked and beaten back in those halcyon days I’d have more teeth and more sense .. but it was home.

Ok so here’s a red herring for ya!!! The popular star crossed lover theory was that Carl came to see the nurse and probably fathered Robin.
What if he came to see George?
WTF Dude!!!! you say ….. Well lets just run it up the flagpole.

Gay men were sometimes killed by straight men, spilled over cliffs at South Bondi.

Can’t be any worse(?) than Leavitt, Trump’s mouthpiece, spouting the usual verbal diarrhoea about Trump’s achievements.

Sounds like the life of a gay man at the time was a wretched one. Constant danger from the police who apparently used to set up stings to entrap them. As well as the dangers as described by PB. clearly he was travelling incognito which I have surmised was for criminal purposes but a closeted gay man would also have good reason to do so.

And another thing. Some research suggests that gay men used coded small adds in newspapers to seek company back in the day. This was definitely a thing in the US and UK and likely in AUS as well. Terms like “ex serviceman” opportunities to go on short trips may have been examples of such adds.

‘ex serviceman’ used a few times by Prosper.

Had Carl been gay, that’s OK hip hip hooray. If SM was straight, you’d call him mate and ain’t that great. In both their cases there be no graces, you just can’t pick preference from their faces, or polka-dot ties with pink shoe laces. Steve H. or Ann O can’t you see. Let it be, Let it be, what care gender, he or she.

Carl Webb isn’t Somerton man (incorrect height), so it doesn’t matter a fig what he or other members of the Webb family did

Well numero ono
He may be Carl , he may be not,
Either way don’t change the plot,
The guy was neat with fancy duds
And tall blond Prosper was quiet the stud
If George was worried when a man came knocking
Bout Jestyns reaction , no doubt shocking
Who know what George was willing to do
To keep a secret known to few

dude47: If the SM was gay, that could explain why no-one, who visited the morgue, gave him a name. Especially if they were also closet gays. And, when Jessie stated this case went to “higher authorities”, I can well imagine what she was trying to implicate if state/federal politicians were involved. And, Tibor Kaldor found dead in the Victoria Hotel, Adelaide, a single man of 44 years, lived in Melbourne-why on earth did he visit Adelaide? Makes you wonder if there was a connection?

Another possible angle, the SM was a child molester, he was taken care of by a ‘higher authoritative’ and, left to die opposite the type of home he should never have been allowed to work in. The ‘Taman Shud’ slip left, as a warning to others.

Do you blokes bloody mind? I’ve got more than a few deep thinkers reading this blog (Clive?) and your attempts at poetry might cost me dearly, intellectually speaking. Ok?

Just when things couldn’t get any wors, things suddenly got one hell of a lot better. Cramer’s blog has gone strangely quiet. Maybe he’s trying his hand at dude style Somerton Man poetic verse, for effect. Just what we need eh?

We all know that both Somerton & Glenelg fit the Tamam Shud code letters; but did you umbskulls know it also fits in reverse order too, ie., Glenelg & Notremos. How about that eh?

Well, it’s as good as Pete’s discovery regarding the letter ‘A’ being in 7th spot.

Clive, you want to know what astounds me? All those decoding experts missed it, including the untouchable Nick Pelling, a man who is held in stratospheric heights as the code-buster supreme – but who was beaten motherless by a no-nothing ex labourer come accounts clerk from Bondi.
I can just restrain myself from laughing out loud .. nothing like beating a Pom at his own game.

In all likelihood it’s faked up, because by the look of it, even an intended recipient couldn’t fathom what it meant

Note how the spaces betwèn the letters on each line disguise the order the letter A was written, then the line and letter X to ignore the line above, the one someone stuffed up and everything done in a hurry, kindergarten code, done by who you reckon ?

Without actually looking at the original pencil markings on the paper, it’s open season on the meaning. For all we know, after it was found someone may have added a couple of penciled letters themselves!

As for Nick Pelling’s code breaking skills. Now he’s claiming success of sorts by translating a four letter marginalia word in the Voynich Manuscript that turned out to be Occitan dialect, a version of Catalonian/Basque unless I’m mistook. The word he deciphered comes third in a three word formation and is now the subject of debate amongst die hard Voynicheros at large. ‘See the light’ being Nick’s pick seems to have D. O’Donovan’s acsent as usual, but neither Prof. Zlatodej nor Mark Knowles can come to terms with such piffle. Excitement is building so thought you lot might like to be kept in touch, so there you are.

Not only has Dingo Nick Pelling been able to lift a clear word from a page margin of VM then translate it for all to see; Seems the technique used, according to a BS/TS Anonymous poster, was one of those used by Mr. Cramer to lift secret writing from the Tamam Shud code, ie. Lemon juice & bleach. Sure Looks like he has Scooooored again. Good on you Gordon.
