From the left, as is plainly obvious ..
Grandpa is 5’8” (refer court appearance records)
The blonde by his side is about the same height.
Grandma is about 5’5” (refer educated guess)
Roy is 5’8” (refer war records)
The problem that exists is that fellow in the photo above tagged as Charlie above is in fact ………..
…………………………………………………………………………….this Charlie, all 5’8” of him. Once again, refer to his war records and the generous courtesy of Dusty, champion that he is.
Charles Richard Webb, some years on.
You see there are TWO Webbs in the family named Charlie: Charles Carl Webb and Charles Richard Webb and it’s plainly obvious that the Charlie in the family photo is Charles Richard Webb.
The Professor has made a gigantic blunder ..
And there won’t be whisper broadcast about it because nobody wants to lose face. My advice is that if you bump into a journalist in the pub you might see if he’s interested.
The Somerton Man .. 
We’re flogging a dead horse here mate. End of the day “Charlie”, in the photo be it Carl Webb, Charles Richard or Charlie Chan, whatever their height;; don’t mean nothin’ gets down to tin tacks, identifying SM. He was 5′ 11″ in his shiny tan leather size eight brogues, or else in his bare cross toed tootsies. Nobody gives a rat’s arse cepting perhaps bimbos likes of Steve Horwood?

The Charlies are around 5’8″ and Somerton man is 5’11”

Charles Webb (sans Richard) is still there on NAA WW2 records @ file ref. 47/52. He hasn’t grown an inch since first spotted.

In re the Steve H negative PB comment over the way @ Misc. (misinterpreted) dead thread; in her sledging she seems to have overlooked the fact that NAA records also reveal Charles Webb to have been a short half head under 5′ 7″. That’s according to his inlistment side by side photo comparison, opposed to the Army giving him an extra two inches (5′ 9″) for good behaviour on his clean discharge sheet. PS: re Lisa F’n Davis and her Voynichero colleagues; they might have noted in my many quotes on VM B408, that ‘A picture paints a thousand vords [sic]”.

Well, that does look right now if Charles Richard Webb is 5’7, and Roy is 5’7 1/2″ on his NAA records.
Uncle Roy born 1904, Carl Webb 1905, nephew Charles Richard Webb 1917. One year age difference between Roy and Carl. 12 years between Charles Richard and Roy
Yep. So Charlie as shown is in fact Charles Richard Webb and he looks about 12 years younger (not one year younger), because he is. He’s the nephew

According to poonce Steve he’s the midget in the Swinburne footy pic, might possibly be a Charles Webb. Plenty with that monicker living in Springvale including a celebrated concert pianist, but not too many were named Carl; and in anycase naught to do with SM, ie., Carl, Charles, Chas or “Charlie” as I keep harping.
