One. Charlie Webb is the Somerton Man .. absence of his death certificate and relationship to Keane are almost impossible to argue.
Accepted.
But.
Two. The man identified as Charlie Webb is the other Charlie Webb.
Accepted.
Three. The University of Adelaide and its revered Professor, Derek Abbott, will forever distance themselves from admitting they are wrong.
Because …..
Two Charlies never make the right Charlie.

I still think SM looks a whole lot like Alf Boxall and so, seemingly, did Harkness. She wouldn’t have sent the plod on a wild goose chase to Sydney if she wasn’t sure.
I get it that the fact that the Webb’s having a close connection with Keane is compelling but, as of yet, no one has come up with a coherent reason as to why Webb would up sticks, travel to Adelaide, try to visit with Harkness and promptly drop dead on a beach.

Probably the only concrete thing about the Adelaide visitor is, he either knew or,had a good idea where Jessie/Prosper lived in Adelaide. If he was “involved” with Jessie, perhaps he contacted her parents in Melbourne and, they perhaps, unwittingly gave him the area in Adelaide where she lived. If, on the other hand, he was ‘involved” with Prosper, finding Prosper’s whereabouts would, I imagine have been easy, if he knew of Prosper and, the way he operated in the motor trade business. Can’t help wondering if Prosper had any bruises/cuts on his hands, in late November 1948?

That’s an interesting possibility. I’m sure I read somewhere that
Durham took up to 4 photos of the SM. I wonder if Canney asked Jessie
if she had seen the SM’s photo in “The Advertiser”? I bet her reply
would have been quite interesting.

Appreciate that SteveH .. but the question remains, why didn’t Durham take any prints off the eminently printable objects in the case found in the luggage office?
