Reader numbers tell the story ..
This thing is almost over, bar the SA coroner awaking from his deep sleep and giving a ruling .. a man could almost be suspicious about such a long delay when Fitzpatrick popped up with a result within weeks and the SA coroner has had all the DNA findings plus everything else for over a year.
So until the penny drops there’s not much left to write about so all a man can do is thank those who have come by here and helped keep the show on the road .. champions, all of you.

Yes, it’s been a good journey, as No. 1 states, also an interesting journey to say the least. So many questions, so few facts….

Where’s a fella s’posed to go from here. Looks like Nick’s bees knees gonna take over the show at CM and Misca’s faceless ladies have spat the dummy. Can’t say I blame you for bugging out too, this is all becoming rather tedious. Stay outa the shit.

Clive and Sanders .. part of the old boys club .. always good for a little detail and from Clive, Paul Lawson’s phone number, much to GC’s chagrin. Can’t win them all, can you?

It’s not only the SA coroner that needs awakening but the media too.
They have given this, seemingly, deliberate exercise in feet dragging a free pass.

If you’re not too pre occupied with important stuff, check GC’s latest offering of Charles Richard with his new Pavel saddle nose. Also comments on BS/TS re overbite versus underbite comparisons which I mentioned two years back without any interest being shown by the CM team.

I’m still trying to figure out how a wife-beating dope addict turned into a Mr Hercules, according to Lawson .. not to mention how he bulked up so magnificently when he was 18 teeth short of a bite.
Plus the bloke identified as SM looked to be three inches shorter than our man .. but who gives a farnarkle, this whole debate is arse up, always has been and GC isn’t helping, never was in fact.

I’ve had me a sight less teeth than SM had, for more years than I care to remember. I live on a strict veg. porridge diet, just like me old dad did and I can say with confidence that Hurcules’ he man attributes aint in my league.

And there’s the eminent professor who states, ‘states’ that the two bobs worth of tools found in the case was evidence of the owner’s trade as an electrical tradesmen .. I’thinking that a bloke who shows up to fix my lightbulbs with that sort of gear might find it hard to get into the front door.

The numbers are down because of stories about nobody’s like old Alf F..N Boxall. Ive loathed that old bugger since his Littlmore interview with his cryptic answers.
He a nobody in this case.
I tell you who’s interesting Rachael F..n Egan. Daughter of Robyn and Roma Egan , Granddaughter Jessica , Jo Thomson.
She lives in my area in little old Adelaide and I see her at the shops from time to time.
First thing you notice about Rachel is that she is TINY , much like her grandmother I guess.
Her face ,like many women of her age now, appears somwhat frozen by the botox needle. The kids have the professors distinctive face and big brown eyes. There a strong almost celebrity like aura about Rachel. She comes across as totally unapproachable.
I suspect she shares many physical and personality traits with her grandmother the mysterious “very acceptable” Jestyn.
Rachels story is bizarre in many ways. She’s adopted out at birth by two ballet dancers in another country. She finds her birth mother as an adult and moves to Australia to live with her.
A guy knocks on the door out of the f..n blue looking for her DNA. She goes to dinner with him the next day and he proposes and she accepts them moves to Adelaide and is now estranged from her birth mother.
She must have been very lost at the the time to accept such a proposal.
So out of the blue the professor rescues her much like old Prosper apparently rescues her grandmother 70 years prior who was also lost at the time.

Very perceptive! You have the bones of a classic short story here!
Have you been to the Somerton Man grave site recently? I’ve seen a photograph – everything has been removed and the site is completely clear!
No one has heard a peep from anyone. I asked Stuart Webb if he had heard anything – nothing!

Jo, if ever you get the opportunity, could you ask Stuart if any other photos in the album were tagged.

Pete – I haven’t seen the albums, but Stuart did show me a number of photos on his laptop, including photos of an elderly Charles Richard Webb and older Russell Webb. At the time I met with Stuart (May 2023) his great uncle, John Keane, did not want any more family photos out in the public domain. Since then, John Keane has collaborated on a Theatre Heritage online article about Gerald Keane’s toolbox, which features a number of photos of Gerald Keane. Steve Hurwood has posted information on here about the article. There are no other known photos of Carl/Charlie Webb.
John – my comment was to indicate that all of the historic signage etc has been removed, as well as the body.

Jo: Seems you’re somewhat behind the times. Nothing to do with latest IVF cross pollenation botch reported in Melbourne. In re the empty grave at West Terrace, reason that “everything has been removed and the site is completely clear” is just because nobody’s home these days; That includes Jerry Somerton who, according to a related CM thread of May ’21 was being uplifted for forensic testing. He has not been seen or heard from since which does not bode well for dedicated Carl Webb enthusiasts.

Jo: Noted. Fair enough. Did you get my message on the saws in G. T. Keane’s theatre tool box that you were inquiring about on CM some time ago?

Jo: I’m assuming that Stuart Webb’s informant, presumably John Robert Keane (bn. 19/6/42) would bear no familial blood relationship to Stuart or anyone else in your nominated Webb or Kean families by extension. Certainly not if he be the adopted son of Gerald’s boy Leo & wife Irene. I suggested this @CM some to go, but without any interest being shown by Keane punters…naturally.

Great short story indeed Jo. As they say truth is stranger than fiction.

In fact if there was a film made about this I would make Rachael the central character seeking to find her family and then build the story in flash back.
Ive had a bit to do with tracing family history which has even taken me down to John sanders country in South Vietnam and Vung Tau. Think operation baby lift (another movie waiting to be made)
When adoptees who search their history , as forest Gump said (you never know what your gonna get)
In Rachel’s case WOW! the fact that her search ended with her crossing paths with the professor and what happened is unfathomable to me.

For your information and follow up, Charles Webb and Gordon Woolley registered their musical ‘Doin the Town’ in Melbourne on 27/1/39. Woolley was a music teacher, so we might assume that he wrote the score to Webb’s poetic works that seem not to have made them famous. Great title, bit like Leonard Bernstein’s ‘On the Town’ circa ’44. See what you can come up with and you can get a little more on Gordon Hobart Woolley’s RAAF service plus plus a few of his post war golf scores on Trove.

dude47: Rachel’s story is certainly strange, talk about history repeating itself. Does the professor operate a car yard in his spare time?
