Getting it Wrong 1

Mistakes and inventions .. they litter the pages of the thousands upon thousands of newspaper articles in respect of what has been written about the Somerton Man and even one notable blog has fallen into the trap:

for instance ..

SM was wearing a double-breasted suit. He was wearing a cardigan. A copy of the Rubaiyat was found in his pocket. There was one cigarette found tucked behind his ear. There was another cigarette found beside the body. Matches were found on the body. SM was ‘immaculately’ dressed. He was found lying on the sand. All his clothing had the labels and name tags removed. Three shirts had the name Keane written on them. He had been walking on the beach. His jacket and tie had the tags cut off. The Tamam Shud slip was found in a ‘secret’ pocket. The Rubaiyat had its last page cut out. SM had a coded message in his pocket. He had a copy of the Rubaiyat amongst his belongings.  He was wearing a smart brown suit. He has been identified as Pavel Fedosimov. The Rubaiyat code has been ‘cracked’. There were indentations found on the back of the Rubaiyat. SM was a spy. The nurse was a spy. Boxall was a spy. They had all been trained in the use of coded micro-writing. The found Rubaiyat was used to convey secret messages. Boxall’s Rubaiyat was used to convey secret messages. SM’s body was switched in the morgue. All the items found in the suitcase were ‘litter’.

Feel free to add any more.

  2. Back in the day I had it sorted .. SM was pure ballet. I had pics of dancers on a beach in Sydney being sunburnt to their upper thighs, pics of ballet slippers worn black by use and ready to be brushed clean, then we found a dancer who disappeared about 1948, it all fell into to place but then it didn’t … so it’s hands up, I f.cked up, but you will NEVER hear that from GC. Ever.

I wouldn’t say you f.cked it up Pete. Sure, at the beginning, it seemed to be pretty straight forward but, lots of information, theories etc since have had everyone trying to match things up. It’s frustrating, but it sure beats watching “Neighbours”!

SM authority Ruth Balint’s BS claim from Advertiser (27/7/49) re woman’s missing rubaiyat savy electrician husband, plus reference to Beaumont children having gone missing from the “same stretch of beach” as Somerton Man. There’s more to add to the score but no desire to be a bore.

I’m new to the case, based on what I read, and everything you have said, and researched,I think that crime scene was staged,And one thing that’s bugged me is it possible the man died somewhere else and put there on purpose? Were they trying to send a message to someone? Since he was found not far from where Jestyn lived was he put there to intimidate her and the other spies that were around that area? It seems like they planted all the evidence on him, and his body looked very clean like you said, seems like a Perfect set.

How about “Days of our lives” Clive. That might suit the agenda better than “Neigh boors”.
