Peter, I hope you remain involved as I know you have at least one piece of the puzzle.
Some long haired git a long time ago mumbled:-
“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages.”
We’re dealing with a group of yankee imports merely playing a role then “exit, stage ……., (whichever)!
Thanks Loner, I’m watching and waiting on the sidelines for a while, hoping the DNA result comes through, eventually.
I do have a question for Gordon Cramer though given that he claims secret messaging using micro-writing is present in every aspect of what we can see of Boxall’s Rubaiyat, and assuming of course that Alf knew all about it do you think, Gordon, that he was taking an unnecessary risk in not just keeping the book, but also showing it around to whoever wanted to examine it?
Without blowing wind up …… well the willows, your research ability and logic is no lesser quality to any at the highest level of this search. One day we could stumble on the missing pieces.
I put it to Gordon that it was unlikely that Boxall would have challenged people like Stuart Littlemore to accept that he ‘was taking a risk but I think he enjoyed it and never more publicly than when he had his interview.’
Gordon knows as I do that those who are engaged in the ‘Secret Service’ of nations are just that: people at risk, knowing that any exposure of their work could mean imprisonment or summary execution yet he would have us believe that Boxall enjoyed taking the risks. Risks that may have led to his imprisonment as a spy, a traitor.
Boxall also stated that Jessie had ‘tremendous courage’. Tremendous courage for what exactly-answering questions from the police and looking at a bust?
They were on our team.
There seems to be a lot of money out of nowhere for certain parties shortly after. Money for risks taken and silence. Assets being paid. The unanswered questions still remain. Who was this guy, what did he do, what did he know.
Not so sure about that
But even if you were to get a positive identification
the powers that be will never acknowledge it
because of what it was all about
Those who started it should have
let sleeping dogs lie
