Just came off an online chat with Daniel Voshart, he reckons both pics are of the same man despite that Charlie looks ‘a bit’ like his brother. DV puts the difference down to age. My view is that when a bloke looks after himself ageing isn’t a big issue.

Nope, he’s completely convinced Abbott and Fitzpatrick found the guy. Sounds like a good bloke but he even questioned the authenticity of the NAA pic of Roy ..

Shabby’s on the money with the chompers of course. Young Charles has a pronounced underbite, Dan Voshart’s mock-up sports an unremarkable jaw line, whilst original slab SM has a decent overbite.

” Charlie” was first up pranking Gerald Keane in the photo, then it was Daniel’s brother Norman he was tapping on the head, but wait, there was no brother Norman. Gwen was in the photo till she became Norma so I’m not certain Amy is Amy, if it’s her look alike daughter Doris – Amy then we are back into the 30’s and so much more fits, except circled Charlie becomes ” Charlie” as in Russell’s son Charlie.

I am sorry for my bothering opinion but… it is impossible to get DNA results from man which have never existed. Same story as Russian Dyatlov group – too many falsificated information from various sources. It may be covering operation by inteligence agency (ASIO ?) which will keep the truth closed forever.

Far as Shabby is concerned everything hinges on Stuart Webb’s of assurance of grandfather Norm NOT being in the family picture; this in addition to his certainty of great grandmother Amy’s presence, she having died in late May or early June 1929, years beforehand. I agree with her contrary opinion.

If only Stuart Webb would produce another pic or two of his g’grandmother to confirm he’s got it correct. On DA’s FB he says he has ‘heaps’, and all labelled.

That’s Amy from the picnic identified by Stuart and two other photos of Amy from Derek’s Somerton Man site.
Amy was born 1895, died 1929.
Her daughter Doris -Amy with Russell was born 16th May 1919.

Shabby: you’ll be aware of course that Doris Amy Webb married her first cousin Norm Tomkinson and whos uncle Percy was mistakenly identified as ‘Thing’ in the Webb pfamily photo by Jo and Co. over at CM not so long back.
It appears also that your CM tipster, Chas. Goddard & Co. alias James ogilvie Noall & George Renny were arrested at Lismore in 1949 but found not guilty on charges of false pretences through lack of evidence in ’51.

I’d say we’re looking at Doris Martin re Shab’s latest link but, Stuart Webb’s dedicated FB pre 29ers insist it’s Amy Sarah Webb. Whilst some are on Freda Keane as their preferred fancy far as I can recall with all the CM confusion.

Some confusion with Chas. in connection with its appearance in some press items of apparent ‘interest’. Evidently our learned CM team are not aware that Chas. be the long preferred short version of Charles, with pals Joe and David Morgan being at loggerheads over how to fit Chas(.) into diversionary name game themes..
