On 11 January Det. Brown joined the team.
On 23 July the Rubaiyat was handed in to Leane.
On 29 July Leane sent a photo of the code and a ‘similar’ Rubaiyat to the Director of Naval Intelligence in Melbourne.

… Cramer scored himself first in accuracy, fact finding and research, CM came second and TBT a distant third.
No mention however of GC’s early insistence that his expert research proved that this saddle-nosed fellow with a mouthful of bad teeth (Pavel Fedosimov) was the straight-nosed and substantially toothless Somerton Man. It still gets a chuckle in the right circles.
