What’s wrong here?
On 8 January 1949 DS Leane was put in charge of the Somerton Body Case.
On 11 January Det. Brown joined the team.
On 23 July the Rubaiyat was handed in to Leane.
On 29 July Leane sent a photo of the code and a ‘similar’ Rubaiyat to the Director of Naval Intelligence in Melbourne.

This is irresistible..
Gordon Cramer has posted a ratings comparison between CM, TBT and his own blog, amongst others. He says that he hopes we will all learn something from the nine ratings, adding that it shows both our strengths and weaknesses and provides an opportunity for our improvement. In other words, use his blog as an example to aspire to,

… Cramer scored himself first in accuracy, fact finding and research, CM came second and TBT a distant third.
No mention however of GC’s early insistence that his expert research proved that this saddle-nosed fellow with a mouthful of bad teeth (Pavel Fedosimov) was the straight-nosed and substantially toothless Somerton Man. It still gets a chuckle in the right circles.
