A kiss and a cuddle from AI

Couldn’t all the info. on this case, be scanned/examined by AI? Results might be quite interesting? Or, am I living in cloud cuckoo land?

    • Maybe not all the facts, just the salient ones that might guide AI to a conclusion …. but starting where? Sounds like it might be like teaching a baby how to walk.

In the spirit of your offer over on the now seemingly defunct Cipher Mysteries (although maybe no need for a kiss and a cuddle as yet) I offer in return my thoughts on a recent post by Gordon Cramer which I originally submitted to the Big Pilchard a couple of days ago to no avail.

I had noted with a mixture of mirth and despair that GC had attempted to hijack the debate about Prosper’s small ads. Gord, referring to himself as “we”, had “worked through the Port Lincoln Small ads and were able to show that when analysed,  two of the ads contained the code name, DANETTA.”

In his latest post he “came across another ad in the Port Lincoln Times dated 17th March 1949” which contained “the DANETTA code name”(ie the letters occur in the correct order within the text).

    “FOR SALE.-Dodge Fluid Drive De-
    Luxe Sedan, 1948 model, fitted
with radio and many extras, finished
    all leather upholstery, covered very
    low mileage. For immediate delivery.
    Price £1,725. Phone Thomson, X3239
evenings, or write 90A Moseley Street,
    Glenelg.”

So I examined the ad a bit more closely. And I found the “real” hidden code. In the below I have removed the original capitalizations and substituted them with my own selection of capital letters.

    “for sale.-dodGe fluid drive de-
    luxe sedan, 1948 mOdel, fitted
with RaDiO aNd many extras, finished
    all leather upholstery, Covered veRy
    low mileAge. For iMmEdiate deliveRy.
    price £1,725. phone thomson, X3239
evenings, or write 90A moseley street,
    glenelg.”

According to Gordo: “The code relies on…sequential letter positions, reading from the left or the right; the letter positions need to be within a word.”

Just to confirm. The “hidden ” coded message says G-O-R-D-O-N-C-R-A-M-E-R.

    G first letter
    O second letter
    R third letter
    D fourth letter
    O fifth letter
    N sixth letter
    C seventh letter
    R eighth letter
    A ninth letter
    M tenth letter
    E eleventh letter
    R twelfth letter

I didn’t have to cheat by reading from right to left. And I did it all without the help of AI. Eat your heart out Pete!

In the spirit of Wyndham Lewis I would rather BLAST AI than BLESS it. From BLAST magazine:
