Soon everything will be sown up tight, thanks to the SA Coroner.
His findings are imminent. The Nation holds its breath. Australia awaits. The WORLD awaits!
For his august findings must of course include the reason why the Harkness woman’s identity was withheld until she was in her grave,
Why the Chemist Freeman was afforded the same privilege.
Why nobody has any evidence (or proof) that the Rubaiyat at the centre of the case ever existed.
Why the body was moved.
Why a box of matches was added to the evidence.
Why the suitcase was found unlocked.
Why his body was stripped of identification.
Why the body was left close to the Harkness woman’s address.
Why the phone number alleged to have been written on the back of the Rubaiyat was never photographed.
Why no items in the suitcase were fingerprinted.
Why the police report of a man carrying a body along the Somerton Beach foreshore on the night of November 30, the night before the body was found has never been released.
Why Prosper Thomson, a car second-hand dealer with a less than savoury background and living with Harkness at the time and who was known to have access to thousands of pounds in cash was never interviewed.
Why Coroner Cleland didn’t depose both Harkness and Freeman after it was learnt they had direct involvement with the case.
Why Coroner Cleland ruled he didn’t know where the body had died at the initial inquest then flipped his ruling years later to rule he had died on the beach.
All of this and more, soon to be answered.
Surely.

…and why Coronor Cleland failed to make mention of the body being found within proximity of the British atomic testing site at Maralinga even closer to the Australian Woomera rocket range ie., only 1,150Km. and 500 km. distant. respectively.

.. and why the ‘other’ phone number was considered unimportant.

Sorry assumed you were still , ; talking about Coroner Cleland; bloke’s gotta keep up with the many nuances and vagaries in play with the Webb factor no longer in play.

Not only that but Durham took some snaps of the body on 3 December dressed as he was when found … but it appears nobody thought to take some of the developed photos to the railway station in the hope that the ticket seller and cloakroom guy might recognise him.

The best that Feltus could come up with, regarding the book, was that of all the police he interviewed when writing The Unknown Man only two told him they had seen it.

Someone was pulling the strings for sure, no enquiry could be so flawed from start to finish. Who and why? So many possibilities from spy agency cover up near atomic test sites to government cover-up into horse race doping before the upcoming Royal visit. Not a lonely heart suicide that’s for certain.

.. and what do you do when you want the best cryptographers in the land to have a shot at deciphering the code? You send them a heavily overmarked copy of same and a copy of a ‘similar’ book.

One of the cryptographers must have had a suspicion that something wasn’t kosher? The authorities were on a win-win situation, send the Code and Book and, let the newspapers know about it. Plus, they knew that the cryptographers had no or little chance when the Code wasn’t in it’s original condition and, the book was not the actual book. As long as the public are kept in the dark about the manipulation, that’s all that mattered.

Pretty easy in those days
No social media to exchange ideas or question things
and a lot of naive unsuspecting people who believe everything they are told and see in the newspapers
Those of us who grew up in that era know that life was simple, no television, you didn’t question authority, you did what you were told in school or you copped it, and police were bully boys to be feared and keep away from

I know this is Farfetched it seems to me he was killed ritualistically! The evidence, the way he was found, the other evidence planted on him, the hidden code, the reason why his identity was never found( not counting the CW ID). Just my own opinion, he was sacrificed by Upper Echelons!

Criminalist Xanthe Hammer has apparently been helping police with the Ballarat jogger murder investigation according to a free online newspaper. Outlining her criminalist credentials reveals interest in cold case mysteries eg., the 1966 missing Beaumont Children and ongoing search for a better credentialed Somerton Man than Prof. Derek Abbott’s Facebook candidate Carl Webb.

Just as an aside, I have the impression that our Gordon is preparing to claim he was the first to discover the similarity in height between Roy and Charlie. We have been having an online discussion today about the two Amys as well but GC appears to have deleted some of the comments. I have little doubt he will soon claim ‘Charlie’ as identified is the wrong Charlie.

I seem to recall that it may have been GC’s PeteDavo posting as redacted who first brooched the subject on height similarities between ‘Charlie’ (the caption) and Roy Webb. It was not posted on CM, more likely Big Footy, Web Sleuths or BS/TS.
