This is why we are waiting for SAPOL’s DNA result.

Extracted from The Advertiser

****Dead bodies are being kept in an external storage facility under a “disturbing rack, pack and stack policy” implemented because the morgue at Forensic Science SA is full, a parliamentary committee has heard.
So inadequate is the forensic agency’s CBD headquarters, scientists cannot use the latest technology, no more electrical equipment can be accommodated and the building does not meet workplace safety or security standards.

Despite an increased death rate since South Australia’s borders reopened, the state government has imposed a budget cut and is not considering relocation until the current lease on the Divett Place building expires in 2027.****

The pathology departments are full and broke.
Not specifically related to SM, just the delays.

~~

In three months SAPOL will have had the Somerton Man’s body for two years without broadcasting a result and here’s the American Colleen Fitzpatrick saying back in July last year he’s Charlie Webb, better known as Carl. Plus he has a family a link to a bloke named Keane etc etc ….

So, what’s the hold up with our lads? They have the Somerton Man’s bones, his teeth, maybe a few hairs, and who knows, perhaps an opportunity of sharing some findings from the Fitzpatrick side. Are they chatting? No? Yes?

How long do these things take?

Or can we expect a few surprises?

  1. Perhaps Glenelg police are still involved to this day in all kinds of ilegal Activity. Be it by looking the other way or directly commiting crimes. Yet another reason to stay away from Australia. It’s all built on líes and convenience.

  2. What can I say? Now we’ll never have a chance to dud you on a real estate deal.

    • Give us a summary, Jo, the Advertiser wants my money.

You think I’d pay for the Advertiser! That’s how Rupert Murdoch got his break! I just inferred from the title… over worked and under funded is probably the gist of it, but doesn’t have the same punning ring to it as “Dead broke”!

As I said some years ago, believing in kenotaf of SM is alive here in Lithuania 🙂 At least in my temple… (In spite of new casket moved out of cemetery).

I certainly wouldn’t pay for “The Advertiser”, full of ads (lives up to its title), sob stories about families left in debt because a partner dealt in drugs and drove into a tree etc, etc. So, the Forensic Science SA Lab cannot move to better premises and is still in the 19th Century with its equipment, it all plays into the SA Govt/SA Police hands as to why it’s taking so long for the SM DNA results to be revealed. If the facilities at the Forensic Lab were/are so inadequate, why weren’t the SM remains taken to Vic/NSW?

Just reading an article in todays Daily Mail which suggests the body of Peter Falconio may have been found and that it’s been sent off for DNA and dental recognition.

It’ll make an interesting comparison as to how quickly they deal with this corpse as to that of SM.
I get it, that a case less than 20 years old would have priority over a 70 year old case…but an unidentified corpse is still an unidentified corpse and needs full investigation.
Since the Falconio case is predominantly under South Australian jurisdiction I’m presuming they will be dealing with this latest corpse.
Therefore, it’ll be interesting to see how quickly they can investigate such things…when they can be arsed.

Difference with Falconio is they presumably have something to match it with. One of the problems with SM is that you have to go fishing. Presumably SAPol doesn’t necessarily fish in the same streams as plebs like Abbott and co. Or at least, they might, but they don’t necessarily keep the fish they find there.

For us internet sleuths, a match on some commercial site is good enough. For investigators that potentially points them in a direction and then they want something a bit more concrete. Maybe they haven’t checked against the online DBs that was used in the public effort, or maybe they have but they want to confirm it, or maybe they have and it wasn’t a good match from their perspective.
