A single woman.

Jessica’s son Robin was conceived in late 1946.

then ..

Prosper moved to Adelaide in late 1946.

Jessica moved to Adelaide in late 1946.

Jessica and Prosper are known to have shared a premises in Moseley St Glenelg from July 1947.

Well everyone knows where I stand. Never bought the spy theory , never bought the love child theory , never rated Boxal as anything more than a red herring. Never believed in micro writing.

The problem for me has always lay in the premiss of SM having the number of “a local nurse”.

Proper was never questioned by the SA cops and barely rated a mention anywhere in SM discussions.

Prosper the dodgy car dealer , the taxi stand fixer , the convicted fraudster who ran small ads through the Mosley st phone number. Leaves his wife and sets up in SA with his new young girlfriend whist maintaining his shifty Melbourne contacts and does dodgy car deals between the 2 States winding up in court after shafting an investor.

I wonder if from the very start it was reported that SM had the number of “a local second hand car dealer and convicted fraudster” wether all the time and energy spent on the flaky nurse was invested into Prosper where we would be now.

But either way I am glad that the focus is shifting.

    • Yeah, we even have Derek Abbott in a CNN piece this week musing whether the Somerton Man might have been some kind of black marketeer.

      Funny, that.

      • The Professor is quoted in the NYT as saying the DNA link Fitzpatrick discovered was from Rachel’s ‘assumed’ grandparents. Where does that come from?

Yes. Prosper and Queenie took 10 years to produce one child and sadly, she didn’t surpass her first year. Gaston doesn’t seem to have had children. Neither did Rollo before his untimely demise in 1943. Ysabel seems to have remained single without children. Adrian as well although he married. Quentin also, unless one is willing to entertain XLamb’s old claims that he fathered a child (Caroline Alice) with an unknown woman. So there. We have that.

Not sure what it tells us. Surely at this Katherine (Kate) Helena must know if she is Prosper’s daughter?

I am so sorry. 8 years. Elizabeth Thomson (Prosper’s daughter with Queenie) was born and died in 1942.

I once followed a murder victim for over 10 years. Researched the fuck out of her case. Knew everyone in her family, all her friends, lovers etc…Knew what they did before, during and after her murder. Had trees up, down and around all of them. Had hundreds of newspaper clippings and musings from many sites. Had a strong idea of who had killed her. 10 years of research.

Turned out it was a freaking random guy that crawled into her window one night.

So…It could be something…But I have learned (the difficult way) that it could also all be nothing.

P.S. I have also had successes in finding and connecting families of dead loved ones. Just trying to put a balance in.

    • Thanks misca. I’ve got one shot left in the magazine at better odds of hitting the target than 130 to 1.

I know where you are coming from Misca. I am reminded of a very underrated Australian fit called The Interview. Hugo Weaving plays a serial killer to perfection. The classic quiet guy next door who keeps to himself. In his confession he taunts the cops as to why he was able to get away with it for so long ” you guys dont get it , you run around looking for the big motive, I killed one stranger for the thirty dollars he had in his pocket “
