All we have are the tools.
Six used pencils all about the same length, a screwdriver and hairpin. A knife with its blade snapped to a point and wrapped in a soiled strip of cloth adhesive. Scissors wrapped in a similar manner, a brush holding loose particles of black powder and a piece of metal foil too small to be used to further protect both the knife and scissors.
A well-used working kit.
But not entirely suitable for fixing geiger counters or chipping ore from rock,
or building a pair of ballet slippers,
or marking a ship’s cargo.
Which leaves the car thief.
