Provenance: you either have it or you don’t.

Provenance is a big deal in making your theory stick. It’s the glue. It’s the evidence. It’s the proof.

So who is responsible for the provenance that backs up the universally accepted theory that Jessica is Jestyn?

Who’s work was it?

Derek Abbott.

Here:

The following sentence has been taken from Derek Abbott’s ‘List of facts on the Tamam Shud Case that are often misrepresented.’

  • 7. Although ‘Jestyn’ is not her actual first name, it was some sort of nickname. She signed herself ‘Jestyn’ in Alf Boxall’s copy of The Rubaiyat.

There it is.

And if Professor Abbott has no proof it was (1) a nickname or (2) Jessica signed the Rubaiyat herself  – number 7 is a misrepresentation in itself.

I rest my case.

Background.

4:57 – “Inside the front cover, she’d written him an inscription.”

Littlemore didn’t ask Boxall who wrote the inscription. He only asked if it was written as the result of a ‘heavy night.’ Littlemore’s comment that it was written by Jessica was dubbed. If this is what DA is relying on, he shouldn’t.

Curious to say the least, that Alf, in his reply, to Littlemore mentions the word “Jesting”, was that a slip of the tongue? Alf also states: ‘this young lady’ ‘this girl’-why didn’t he mention her name? Was he distancing himself from her?

“jesting” relates to Alf’s going off to fight a war under the palm trees Clive. A couple of things which might be of help vis-a-vis the Boxall interviews, include his feeling that Jestyn may have been un jeune petit Frog sheila. A Pierre Eugene Louis Cau from Neutral Bay served with Alf’s Crusader and had family staying on Sth Esp. Glenelg in ’46 &c. Alf’s alleged Adelaide Police interrogators (never hatchy says Feltus) in late July ’49, probably included Errol Canney, on his investigators course in Sydney at about that time. So, if true, who was it interviewed Sister Jess Thomson in Adelaide the day before?
