The man seen alive in the evening was not the man found dead in the morning

Proved certain?

Proved beyond doubt?

Believe it?

Paul Lawson’s diary entry, “original body” comes to mind, and won’t go away.

Peteb. The man seen DEAD in the evening was not the man seen dead in the morning. You have some explaining to do if you think otherwise and needless to say your response is not deserving of further explaining from where I stand. Sorry but your proofs don’t mean jack.

  3. Johnno has a lot to say about the Somerton Man over at Cipher Mysteries and the Voynich mob no doubt would like their favourite site back from the multitude of his comments. Nevertheless, the old lad does do his homework, only to confound everybody by putting it all through the blender before he plunks it on the keyboard.
His comment above is worth considering as it demonstrates the grave difficulties facing those who don’t want to believe the facts. The view here is that there have been only two advances in the case in the last 70 years: the revelations found inside Gordon Cramer’s Q and the importance of one sentence in Gordon Strapp’s deposition.
Two Gordons … the stars must be aligned.

Hi Pete, given that there is an obvious difference in witness descriptions of the trousers and also given the, later, witness account of a man being carried along the same beach that night plus Clive’s comment re Paul Lawson’s Diary entry regarding ‘the original body’ I think that you are quite right to bring it up as a valid scenario. If you were in a CIB office and all the information was being reviewed and cross checked you are doing what they would do.

  5. Gordon, old amigo, it’s frightening to think of all the publicity this case has had over the years: the blogs books films interviews newspaper articles and wordy essays of literacy and intent, police reports, cold case reviews, magazine features, the Wikipedia bible, journalistic reviews and podcasts … yet no mention of the striped trousers V the plain.
How do you think Abbott feels now, knowing for certain the body was transported to its resting place, already dead? My betting is that nothing will come if it.
And Feltus, he missed it too. Everybody did.
The shame if it, everybody being so clever and all.

I’ll hold my hand up, I missed it and shouldn’t have. Good work Pete.

      • Imagine such an egregious mistake being made by the Voynich mob in their quest. They’d all stay mum as well … and I can’t claim any credit, the coronial depositions have been sitting on my bookshelf for eight years. Bloody woeful !

  6. NickP … The same man but different clothes? How could that work? Everything he owned was in a suitcase back at the station.
