The name Danetta can be lifted from Verse 70 of the Rubaiyat, the verse that was inscribed in the copy JESTYN gave to Alf Boxall. It says so here:

  1. Good find Milongal, a straight set of sequential numbers delivered the name Danetta. In this case the key wasn’t the carrier letters but the letters themselves just as Prosper’s ad for the gold watch revealed Tibor’s name in a sequential set of letters.Credit where credit is due.

  2. Hi Pete, Danetta is regarded as the female form of Daniel, it is also considered to be a ‘ceremonial’ name in the Hebrew religion and finally it can also be a surname.

I have an issue with the code page DANETTA, it doesn’t appear to follow a strict numerical sequence as does Tibor’s letter and Verse 70. Unless I’ve missed something and that’s been known 🙂 Should bear in mind that you can drag a number of names from the code page including TIBOR.

  3. Jessica, Boxall, Kaldor and SM all linked by their usage of the name Danetta. A pair of cunning old foxes, you and Clive.

  5. Gordon, if the manner in which Danetta is represented in the code is wrong; ie, done by someone not familiar with the specific coding technique, what would that say about the underlying code?

  6. On the basis that each letter on the code page has a specific set of code numbers/letters within it but only the letters that fall into the Keyword, i.e. Danetta, had the real message then parts of the underlying code would simply not be readable except ‘maybe’ for those letters that were correct. Hope that makes sense.

What I believe is that each letter in both Verse 70 and the code page, that matches the letters and position of the keyword ‘DANETTA’, contains a part of the full message. That means that the other letters that could contain micro code were just padding, a bluff. There may have been some kind of mechanism that prevented parts of whole message being read unless all were present, a jigsaw.

You could score a win against the enemy decoders by chewing up a great deal of their valuable time.

I wonder if the letters making up the word ‘DANETTA’ come from the following words in the first paragraph:
    Unavoi(DA)ble
    I(N)
    (E)nd
    (T)aken
    (TA)blets

    • Hi Clive, You would also need to show the numerical sequence of the words, in the letter it was first letters in 7 words that had a numerical location sequence of 4,5,6,7,8,9,10. In the Verse 70 example, it was again 7 letters but from within words, the words themselves had a numerical sequence of 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.

  8. Clive, a question – did PC Moss have it right when he said the slip wasn’t in SM’s fob pocket? Your answer will be treated in strictest confidence, as with those of any others who dare to surface.

Good question, PC Moss doesn’t seem to have made a thorough search of the clothing judging by the number of articles later added to his list of items found on the SM
