36 Another loose end

We think the Somerton Man was a Russian agent.

And we think he was killed by his own side.

~~

Scenarios: there are two.

The Russian spy took the book with him when he left the station. He was intercepted, restrained, searched and later killed.

How did Mr Francis get his hands on it?

Hi Pete, Thinking about Mr L.F. Wytkins, who supposedly found a copy of the Rubaiyat on a tram/bus. “The Advertiser” 9-10-48 Page 10, has an advert by an auction company called Megaw & Hogg , and they were to auction Tramways lost property on 18-10-48 which included 62 books/magazines.

  2. Bloke I know reckons SM was mugged early, his suitcase taken and rifled then booked into the luggage office. Who travels with all those ties, shirts, underpants and no spare socks, he asks. That’s what they stuffed everything into, including his correspondence and the mystery book, all those letterforms and no letters? Pull the other one, he says – and the knuckle abrasions? Looks like he got one in for himself, he says.
