the end of a review

‘ …. The focus of the book changes and changes, building up the pointillist tale. And then they end up on a beach, a mystery as deep as the Rubaiyat itself. And we know what happened. We can look back and see the entire canvas spread out in front of us.’*

I remember asking this question of Misca –  ‘Could a work of fiction that contained all the known facts of the Somerton Man case ever be read as fact?’

Her answer was maybe.

I’ve got another one.

‘Is the Bookmaker from Rabaul nearly true, or all fiction?’
